i’m taking social psych & sex and gender. yes, we’re doing the ‘do nothing for 10 minutes in a busy social space’ exploraments. he showed the karate kid in class. i just think he’s adorable and i want to hug him.

i also love how he’s for learning over following typical ‘school’ protocol :P 

Yeah, lots of sociology teachers here are really disillusioned with “school protocol”.  Like my dear teacher for Marriage and the Family had us basically create our course syllabus together, with a lot of “make it as long as it takes”, “make it interesting for yourself and for me”, “write whatever you wanna write about as long as it pertains to the class, I’m not here to tell you what you should be learning, you have to figure that out”

makes for fun and memorable classes.  I’ve probably learned more from McGrane than anyone else at this school, because his stuff actually sticks in your brain instead of the “cramming information to study for a test and then forgetting it later” methods.
